Beijing Chaoyang Spring Carnival 2015

EI has been cooperating with Chinese partner BCIA for the past 10 years on the international programme for the Beijing Chaoyang Spring Carnival. Taking place over a week in Beijing’s largest park, this event breaks the mold of traditional Spring Carnival (Chinese New Year) celebrations by focusing on contemporary arts and entertainment. Depending on the weather, up to 70,000 people per day attend the festival.

This year’s international programme (19th – 24th February) presented by EI included Manchester street band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners and the Alien Voyagers from Amsterdam. We have now facilitated over 40 outdoor arts companies and music groups from the UK and Europe to present their work in China for the first time.
